Bassem Youssef is an Egyptian satirist and the host of the satirical Egyptian news program Al Bernameg (The Program). The press has compared Youssef with American comedian Jon Stewart, whose satire program The Daily Show inspired Youssef to begin his career. Bassem Youssef began his first satirical show in March 2011 in response to the Egyptian Revolution and 2011 Syrian uprising. Entitled The B+ Show, the program was uploaded to YouTube and gained millions of views. Around 10 episodes were produced in all. After the success of The B+ Show, Egyptian channel ONTV offered Youssef a deal to create the satirical show Al Bernameg. Youssef has parodied Egyptian celebrities in his show. Dalia Lily, a 13 year-old Lebanese descendent, is one of the youngest music composers and pianists to release a music CD. When she was 10 years old in 2009, she entered her first music competition and won with "Arabia", which was arranged and performed by the McLean Symphony Orchestra in Northern Virginia. Her debut CD's"The Colors of Dalia" (an orchestral/instrumental CD) and "The Colors of Dalia-Remixes" (a pop flavored instrumental with music from the orchestral CD) were released recently. They contain a compilation of a variety of Dalia Lily's musical creations during the past five years. DIANA CALENTI (BESSADA) choreographer and dancer of international acclaim, has recently returned to North America after achieving legendary success in Egypt.
A recent headline in the Cairo publication, “The Egyptian Gazette” declared: Dina Calenti brings Egyptian Dance to the 21st century. The Cairo paper went on to Say: “No (foreign) Artist has ever won such fame in Egypt as Ms Calenti. Her art is unique in beauty & poetry. The traditional Egyptian folk tales are brought to life & usher in a new age of Egyptian dance.”
Said Durrah is an up-and-coming comedian born in Detroit, Michigan. Said grew up in Mayo, Maryland and now resides in Bowie, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC
Said has performed standup comedy in number of venues all over the US. After getting his start in Manhattan, New York, at The Comic Strip, Said quickly climbed the ranks by performing at the famed Town Hall Theatre on Broadway within his first year in comedy. The greatest influence on Said’s comedy career is his parents and their Arab roots, his Mother is from Gaza, Palestine, and his father is from Amman, Jordan.
