Respite for Sinners

Published in January 19, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  What is meant by (respite) in 68:45 and 7:183? … Thank you …

Answer:

The Lord God says the following in the Holy Quran: "And I will give them respite. My plan is firm." (68:45 + 7:183). This comes in the context of encouraging sinners by wishful thinking; they are given the chance to live and commit more sins within disbelief/polytheism; the plan/scheme of the Dominant Lord here means to grant those sinners wealth; their wishful thinking leads them to assume that this is an indicator showing that God is pleased with them; they continue to commit more sins, violations, and injustices until they die as allies of Satan. We should avoid such people: "So leave them in their bewilderment until a time. Do they assume that, in furnishing them with wealth and children. We race to give them the good things? In fact, they have no idea." (23:54-56); this applies in our modern era to enthroned tyrants and their unjust courtiers and ministers in their processions of pomp and splendor which never deceive monotheists: "Do not be impressed by the disbelievers’ movements in the land. A brief enjoyment, then their abode is Hell. What a miserable resort." (3:196-197). This applies also to ancient deniers and disbelievers who rejected the divine messages: "Messengers before you were ridiculed, but I granted the disbelievers respite, and then I seized them. What a punishment it was!" (13:32); "And the inhabitants of Madian. And Moses was denied. Then I reprieved those who disbelieved, but then I seized them. So how was My rejection?" (22:44); "How many a town have I reprieved, although it was unjust? Then I seized it. To Me is the destination." (22:48). This applies to deniers of the Quranic Discourse of Allah who believe in other discourses/hadiths of Al-Bokhary and his likes: "So leave Me to those who reject this Discourse; We will proceed against them gradually, from where they do not know. And I will give them respite. My plan is firm." (68:44-45); "As for those who reject Our Verses, We will gradually lead them from where they do not know. And I will give them respite. My plan is firm...Have they not observed the government of the heavens and the earth, and all the things that God created, and that their time may have drawn near? Which discourse, besides this, will they believe in?" (7:182-185).

The Biggest Criminal

Published in January 20, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I was imprisoned unjustly for 4 years and suffered being tortured routinely. Years after my release, I have frequent nightmares and I cannot forgive the criminals who tortured me..........Any soothing words? … Thank you …

Answer:

The biggest criminals are the enthroned tyrants who allow torture inside prisons to terrorize citizens; you do not have to forgive or forget; you are to curse the torturers and the tyrants; you should bear in mind that the Lord God will torment them in this world and in the Hereafter inside Hell. "Do not ever think that God is unaware of what the unjust ones do. He only defers them until a Day when the sights stare." (14:42).

A Question of Inheritance

Published in January 21, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … A son died before his father; do the children of this deceased son have the right to inherit their deceased grandfather or not? … Thank you …

Answer:

They do not have this right if the deceased grandfather has his own inheritors (i.e., if he has sons and daughters). If the deceased grandfather has no sons and daughters, the grandchild are his inheritors.

Smoke

Published in January 21, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by the word (smoke) in the Quranic text? It is not the one resulting from fires, I suppose......... … Thank you …

Answer:

This noun is mentioned twice in the Quranic text: (1) about the phases of the creation of the universe and (2) about the advent of the Hour of total destruction of the universe before the Resurrection Day.

"Say, “Do you reject the One who created the earth in two days? And you attribute equals to Him? That is the Lord of the worlds.” He placed stabilizers over it; and blessed it; and planned its provisions in four days, equally to the seekers. Then He turned to the sky, and it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come, willingly or unwillingly.” They said, “We come willingly.” So He completed them as seven universes in two days, and He assigned to each universe its laws. And We decorated the lower universe with lamps, and for protection. That is the design of the Almighty, the All-Knowing." (41:9-12); "So watch out for the Day when the sky produces a visible smoke. Enveloping the humankind; this is a painful torment. “Our Lord, lift the torment from us, we are believers.”" (44:10-12).

Al-Forquan

Published in January 22, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by the Quranic term (Al-Forquan)? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

We have answered such a question before; we assert briefly here that this term which means (the Criterion) refers to several things as per the Quranic context at hand.

1- It refers here to the Scripture/Book given to Moses: "And recall that We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion, so that you may be guided." (2:53); "We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and illumination, and a reminder for the pious ones." (21:48).

2- It refers here to the Quran itself: "Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His servant, to be a warning to humanity." (25:1); "...and He sent down the Criterion..." (3:4); "Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed. Guidance for humanity, and clear portents of guidance, and the Criterion..." (2:185).

3- It refers here to the battle of Badr: "...provided you believe in God and in what We revealed to Our servant on the Day of Al-Forquan, the day when the two armies met..." (8:41).

Percentages of Written Will and Testaments

Published in January 22, 2020

Question:  … Dear Sir, … Do written will and testaments have to never exceed a certain percentage of one's wealth or not? Can a person leave all his/her wealth to one person among the inheritors as per a written will and testament? What do you think?  … Thank you …

Answer:

There is no certain percentage; the written will and testaments should be about a part of the wealth and never all of it. One must try to be fair and just as much as possible while bearing the circumstances of the inheritors in mind. If the written will and testaments contain something that pertains to injustice, society represented by; e.g., the judicial authority can interfere to urge a person to change his/her written will and testament.

Scriptures of Abraham

Published in January 22, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … Did the Arabs in Arabia read the Scriptures of Abraham before the advent of Prophet Muhammad?! If so, in which tongue?! … Thank you …

Answer:

Yes; as per history and as per our own pondering on the Quran itself, some Arabs read ancient Scriptures of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus in Arabic. Some Arabs had a fair knowledge of the contents of these Scriptures before the revelation of the Quran.

Noble and Nobility, Again!

Published in January 23, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …   Why Are the terms (noble) & (nobility) never mentioned in the Quranic text?!  … Thank you …

Answer:

Because the repeated Quranic terms nearer to their meaning are (charity) and (charitable), especially regarding forgiving/pardoning offenders. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "The repayment of a bad action is one equivalent to it. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward lies with God. He does not love the unjust ones." (42:40); "Good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with good, and the person who was your enemy becomes like an intimate friend. But none will attain it except those who persevere, and none will attain it except the very fortunate." (41:34-35).

About the Quranic Verse 13:41

Published in January 23, 2020

Question: …  Dear Sir, … What is meant by the Quranic verse 13:41 regarding the Judgment by the Lord God? …  Thank you …

Answer:

The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "Do they not see how We deal with the earth, diminishing it at its edges? God judges; and nothing can hold back His Judgment. And He is quick to settle accounts." (13:41); this means no one can revoke or change decrees and commands of the Lord God; this means there are no intercessors in the Hereafter on the Judgment Day. This is about the host of angels performing God's commands in this world by recording deeds of all human beings: "He has a host; before him and behind him, recording his deeds by God’s command..." (13:11); the pronoun (he) here refers to (man) or to any given human being.

Umm Ahmad & Isnad!

Published in January 24, 2020

Question: … We have received this email message, written in bad Arabic and filled with spelling mistakes, from a female sender named Umm Ahmad who hated our book about Isnad: (Why are you denying and distorting the notion of Isnad which is part of Islam & whose system is established exclusively by Muslim scholars and it is praised by historians of the West as a method of chronicling events and hadiths? ...... If Aristotle and Plato were alive and saw Isnad and its rules, they'd have praised Isnad! ....... Your evil aim is to make readers, in the Arab world and in the West, cast doubt on Islam! Shame on you and on your inferiority complex! .......... ) …

Answer:

It is a laughter-inducing thing to see that Umm Ahmad assumes that Isnad (i.e., studying the series of narrators of hadiths) is part of Islam! Islam is the Quran only; the Quran has no Isnad; it is God's Word revealed to Muhammad. Yet, we respect the religious freedom of everyone. Our book on Isnad proves that its rules and writings about it in the Sunnite religion make one cast doubt on the Sunnite religion and its hadiths and not on Islam. We forgive Umm Ahmad for insulting our person in her email message.

Bad Deeds of Noah's Son

Published in January 24, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … What are the bad deeds of Noah's disbelieving son, who drowned in the deluge, mentioned in 11:46? …  Thank you …

Answer:

The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "He said, “O Noah, he is not of your family; his deeds are never good. So do not ask Me about something you know nothing about. I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant.”" (11:46). We should never ask or guess what are these bad deeds since they are not specified in the Quran. The Quranic verse 11:46 talks about the dead Noah's son who, was a disbeliever, after his book of deeds was closed forever (and his fate in Hell is sealed and it is irrevocable); Noah is rebuked in 11:46 as he implored God to forgive his sinful, disbelieving son. Noah never knew the invisible and the future; the Omniscient Lord God informed him in 11:46 that his son is among the losers on the Last Day.

About Sunna Prayers, Again!

Published in January 25, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  … I am a newcomer to your great Quranism website; let me know if I get this right: You say that the so-called extra Sunna prayers are wrong as they are polytheistic prayers offered to an imaginary deity named as Muhammad. Right?...... I find your ideas requiring a very long time of pondering to be accepted by laymen........ … Thank you …

Answer:

You are more than welcome to our website; please take your time to assimilate our ideas and to ponder on them with a critical mind. Of course, we have written a lot that the Muhammadans worship an imaginary god named as (Muhammad) which has nothing to do with the mortal prophet mentioned in the Quran. We refer you to our English series of articles (which will be turned into a book soon) titled "The Belief Is Not In Muhammad But In What Has Descended Upon Muhammad: Those Who Believe In Muhammad Are Disbelievers". We assert here that the religious beliefs of the Sunnite, Shiite, and Sufi Muhammadans crumble beneath even the slightest rational scrutiny. For instance, it is irrational to assume that people should worship mortal, dead or alive, human beings or that the Omnipotent Lord God demands that women cover their heads.

About Utterances during Prayers

Published in January 25, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  … Before I prostrate after kneeling, during my prayers, I typically pronounce the utterance (The Lord Allah answers the prayers of those who praise Him). Is this OK? Sunnites utter the same phrase, as you know, and it is not found in the Quran. Of course, I pronounce the verses 3:18-19 as the testimony during prayers as you have taught me. Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

We tend to think that this is OK; one is responsible for what one utters during one's daily prayers; you should bear in mind to adhere to piety, reverence, and concentration during your prayers and that they result in adherence to piety all day long. This means adhering to monotheism in all acts of worship and to never commit injustices against people and to be peaceful with all of them. May the Lord God guide you to His mercy and Paradise.

Dealing and Trading in Hard Currency

Published in January 26, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  I live in Yemen and the value of the US$ there is never stable because of the war; my question is as follows: Is it OK within Islam (i.e., Quranism) to work in the field of dealing and trading in hard currency away from the government? Any ideas? …  Thank you …

Answer:

Yes; this is OK since all business transactions are OK if based on mutual consent of all parties involved.

Divine Revelation to Muhammad outside the Quran?!

Published in January 26, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  … When the Lord God provided guidelines to Muhammad in certain situations within events of his lifetime in Arabia, was this revelation outside the Quran or within the Quranic text itself? … Thank you …

Answer:

We have answered this question before; we assert here again that Muhammad received no revelation outside the Quran at all, even guidelines and pieces of advice addressed to him by the Lord Allah are found exclusively in the Quran. The Quran is complete and it lacks nothing; the Quran completes the entirety of Islam; anything pertains to Islam is found only in the Quran itself: "The Word of your Lord has been completed, in truth and justice. There is no changing to His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower." (6:115); "...Today I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My favor upon you, and have approved Islam as a religion for you..." (5:3).

About the Quranic Verse 4:3

Published in January 26, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "If you fear you cannot act fairly towards the orphans - then marry the women you like - two, or three, or four. But if you fear you will not be fair, then one, or what you already have. That makes it more likely that you avoid bias." (4:3); does the underlined word refer to one orphan or one wife?! … Thank you …

Answer:

It refers to one wife in order to avoid injustice or bias if polygamy might lead to them. Those men who can be fair and just and avoid bias may marry more than one wife and it is preferable that they would choose widows with children in order to care for orphans.

Garments

Published in January 27, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  What is meant by the Quranic/Arabic term (Sarabeel)? … Thank you …

Answer:

It means (garments). This plural word is mentioned twice only in the Quranic text; it refers here to the useful clothes of people in this transient world: "And God has made for you shade out of what He has created, and has given you resorts in the mountains, and has given you garments to protect you from the heat, and garments/ Sarabeel to protect you from your violence. Thus He completes His blessings upon you, so that you may submit." (16:81); it refers here to a means of torment for Hell dwellers: "Their garments/Sarabeel made of tar, and the Fire covering their faces." (14:50).

Moses & Aaron as Messenger(s)

Published in January 27, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … Why do we find in the Quranic text that Moses and Aaron are referred to as one messenger in 26:16 and as two messengers in 20:47? What is the difference? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

There is no difference; the Divine Message or Revelation was one and the same for both Moses and Aaron. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening. Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the messenger of the Lord of the Worlds. Let the Israelites go with us.'“" (26:15-17); "Approach him and say, `We are the messengers of your Lord; so let the Israelites go with us, and do not torment them. We bring you a sign from your Lord, and peace be upon him who follows guidance. It was revealed to us that the torment falls upon him who disbelieves and turns away.'“" (20:47-48).
