First I would ask the question, knowing Israel, as we dealt with them for more than half a century, one must ask, why would Israel want to give up the Golan now after all these years, they have invested heavily there and if my memory serves me, did they not annex it at the same time they annexed Jerusalem . What would be their incentive to give it back, they have never given anything back without exacting a huge price or gains for themselves.
Second, if there is any truth to that, why do they adamantly refuse to resume the negotiations at a more official level.
Israel is known as a very capable player in the game of politics, they play the good cop bad cop game and always have a carrot ready to offer while they carry a huge stick and demonstrate their ability to use it all the time.
I will believe it when I see it, meaning, not when the government announces that agreement, but when they actually execute it.
