Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in Middle Eastern Studies
The successful candidates will work on either Political
Islam/Islamism, Social and Political Transformation and/or Conflict
Studies (preferably the Middle East conflict), Comparative Research on
Authoritarianism
Applicants at the research-fellow level should have demonstrable
research capabilities; applicants at the senior research-fellow level
should have an established research recordThe initial contract will run for three years, with the possibility of
extension or tenure. The salary is commensurate with TV-AVH/TVöD EG13
Desired qualifications: Regional expertise on the Middle East; Ph.D
in Islamic studies, political science, history or sociology
Publications in recognized academic journals; Excellent skills in
Arabic and English, other regional language skills (Persian, He-brewTurkish) if applicable; Political consulting experience
The position is available as of 1 January 2010; screening of
