المنظمات المصرية فى المهجر تؤيد اضراب 6 أبريل فى مصر :سنقوم بمظاهرات تأييدا لاضراب 6 ابريل فى مصر.

المنظمات المصرية الآتية أسماؤها ( المركز العالمى للقرآن الكريم ، وحقوق الناس ، وتحالف المصريين الأمريكيين ، والتجمع القبطى فى أمريكا ، ومركز ابن خلدون للدراسات الانمائية ، والمجتمع المصرى الأمريكى ، وأصوات من أجل مصر الديمقراطية) تعلن توحدها كمصريين ومنظمات مصرية أمريكية فى تعضيد ومساندة حركة الإضراب المصرية الشاملة فى الداخل يوم 6 أبريل القادم.

إننا نحيى شجاعة المناضلين من اجل التحول الديمقراطى فى مصر بممارسة الحق السلمى فى العصيان المدنى ، ونعلن أننا ننوى اللحاق بهذا الجهاد النبيل .وهنا نعلن عن مظاهرات موازية لمساندة إضراب 6 أبريل ، وستقوم هذه المظاهرات فى العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن وفى مدن أخرى عديدة حول العالم ، بدءا من يوم السبت الرابع من أبريل القادم.

إننا نعتقد أن مصر قد هبطت فى مستنقع الركود والخمول بسبب الاستبداد و الفساد مما نتج عنه تدنى النمو الاقتصادى وانتهاك حقوق الانسان وضياع العدل وسيادة القانون.

ونعتقد أن الحكومة المصرية مسئولة على ما آلت اليه الأحوال فى مصر ، وأن هذا يستدعى اصلاحا ضروريا ليس فقط لمراعاة مصلحة المواطن المصرى ولكن أيضا لصالح الاستقرار الاقليمى واستجابة لرغبة المجتمع الدولى فى تعزيز الديمقراطية .

اننا نعتقد ان قانون الطوارىء المفروض على مصر منذ عدة عقود قد أضاع حرية المصريين ، وفى نفس الوقت لم يعط سلاما للعالم أو لمصر ، بل على العكس أرسى الطغيان وقام بالتفريق بين المصريين وانتهك حقوق الانسان ونشر التطرف الدينى ، وحارب وهمّش العناصر المعتدلة و التنويرية فى المجتمع المصرى .

لقد قام المصريون بنضال طويل من أجل الحرية فى بلادهم ، واتسع نطاق العصيان المدنى السلمى فى السنوات الراهنة ، والجماهير التى كانت تقليديا تعزف عن العمل السياسى ما لبث أن نزلت الى الشارع بطريقة غير مسبوقة ، وقوبلت بأشد أنواع القمع . ومع ذلك فان الروح المصرية ـ التى لا تقهر ـ ظلت صامدة تظهر شجاعة المصريين ، ويتجلى هذا فى الاضراب القومى المزمع القيام به فى 6 ابريل 2009 ، برغم القمع العنيف الذى قامت به الحكومة المصرية فى مواجهة إضراب 6 ابريل عام 2008 ، وبالرغم من حملات التخويف التى تشنها تلك الحكومة تحسبا للاضراب القادم .

وبنفس الروح فاننا ننادى مع إخواننا وأخواتنا فى مصر بانهاء قانون الطوارىء والافراج عن السجناء السياسيين وسجناء الرأى ووقف اضطهاد المصلحين .

ولوقف التمييز الطائفى والدينى فاننا ندعو الى إصدار قانون موحد لبناء بيوت العبادة ، ووقف كل الاجراءات الحكومية التى تحمل أى نوع من التمييز ضد الأقليات ، مع دعوة الحكومة للوقوف بحزم ضد اى انتهاك لحقوق الأقليات يقوم به الأفراد .

كما ندعو الى اتخاذ خطوات حاسمة فى احترام الديمقراطية وحقوق الانسان والعدل وسيادة القانون ، بما فى ذلك حرية الاعلام وحرية تكوين وعمل الجمعيات والأحزاب السياسية وحماية حقوق الأقليات واستقلال القضاء واقامة انتخابات حرة ونزيهة فى ظل تعددية سياسية .

إننا نعتقد بقوة أن التغيير والاصلاح سيحدث عندما يتحد المصريون جميعا بكل أطيافهم فى المطالبة السلمية بتحقيق الديمقراطية . ونعتقد أن المصريين قد عبروا صراحة عن الرغبة فى هذا التغيير الاصلاحى ، ونحن نساند هذه الجهود الوطنية التى تجعل المصريين يدركون أن مصر هى أم الحضارات ، وهى الأم لجميع المصريين على السواء .

PRESS RELEASE: Egyptian Organizations Abroad Support the April 6 Strike in Egypt

APRIL 4, 2009

The following organizations: Ahl Al Quran, the Alliance of Egyptian Americans, Coptic Assembly of America, Hukuk Al Nas, the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies, Muslim American Society, and Voices for a Democratic Egypt have united as a coalition of Egyptian and Egyptian American organizations to declare our support for and solidarity with the nationwide strike in Egypt on April 6th, 2009. We salute the courage of all who strive to bring about a peaceful democratic transition in Egypt by exercising their right to non-violent civil disobedience, and we declare our intent to join in that noble effort. To that end, we announce a parallel solidarity protest that will take place in Washington DC, as well as in several cities around the world, starting Saturday, April 4th, 2009.

We believe that Egypt is mired in a state of stagnation and regression as reflected by chronic under-development and corruption as well as a lack of democracy, respect for human rights, and the rule of law. We believe that the Egyptian government’s performance contributes significantly to this state of regression and that substantial reform is a necessity not only for the average Egyptian citizen, but also for regional stability as well as the international community of democracies. We believe that the emergency law that has been imposed on Egyptians for decades and which suspends their basic freedoms has not made Egyptians or the world more secure. Instead, it has entrenched tyranny, divided the population, trampled upon human dignity, and strengthened extremism— all while alienating the more moderate segments of Egyptian society.

Egyptians have long fought for their freedoms at home, and acts of non-violent civil disobedience have multiplied in recent years. Groups that have traditionally not been politically engaged are taking to the streets in unprecedented fashion. Mostly, their efforts have met with heightened repression. Nonetheless, the indomitable spirit of Egypt persists in the continued courage Egyptians display as manifested by their intent to once again stage a national strike on April 6th, 2009, despite the violent governmental response to the 2008 strike and current attempts at intimidation. It is in this spirit that we join forces with our brothers and sisters in Egypt, and together call for an end to the state of emergency in Egypt, the release of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, and an end to the harassment of reformers. In support of eliminating sectarian divisions, we call for the passage of the unified law on the construction of houses of worship, ending all government sponsored acts of discrimination against all minorities, and that the government take steps to discourage any acts of discrimination taken by its citizens. We also call for concrete steps to enshrine respect for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, including freedom of the media, association, and political parties; protection of minorities; judicial independence; and free and fair elections in an environment of political pluralism.

We strongly believe that change will only come when Egyptians of all stripes rally together peacefully to the end of promoting a democratic Egypt. We believe that Egyptians have manifested their intent for change, and we support the national effort to bring our homeland closer to realizing its full potential.
