The Quran and Pessimism
Published in February 25, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is pessimism mentioned in the Quran or not? Is it OK within Islam or not to be pessimistic? What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
Both optimism and pessimism have nothing to do with Islam. Some of the Quranic stories mention the superstitious pessimism of some disbelieving people who saw certain persons (especially prophets) as ill-omens or harbingers of bad events to come; they did not know that anything good or bad which occurred to them is always within the Lord God's Omniscience and Divine Will as part of preordained fates of adversity/prosperity: "And We sent to Thamood their brother Saleh: "Worship God." But they became two disputing factions. He said, "O my people, why are you quick to do evil rather than good? If only you would seek God's forgiveness, so that you may be shown mercy." They said, "We consider you an ill omen, and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with God. In fact, you are a people being tested."" (27:45-47); "When something good came their way, they said, "This is ours." And when something bad happened to them, they ascribed the evil omen to Moses and those with him. In fact, their omen is with God, but most of them do not know." (7:131); "We sent them two messengers, but they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third...They [i.e., the disbelievers] said, "We see an evil omen in you; if you do not give up, we will stone you, and a painful punishment from us will befall you." They [i.e., the messengers] said, "Your evil omen is upon you..."" (36:14-19).

The Quranic Term (Juruz)
Published in February 25, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is the meaning of the Quranic term (Juruz)? … Thank you …
Answer:
It means a barren, waste, or dry land which lacks water: "And We will turn what is on it into barren waste." (18:78); "Do they not see how We conduct the water to a dry land, and with it We produce vegetation, from which their livestock eat, and themselves? Do they not see?" (32:27).

About the Quranic Verse 6:44
Published in February 25, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by the underlined part of this verse: "...We seized them suddenly; and at once, they were enveloped in despair." (6:44)?… Thank you …
Answer:
This means that sinners/disbelievers and polytheists will feel despair once they die as they know from the angels of death that their inevitable fate is Hell. They will lose all hope of deliverance/salvation; they will be enveloped in Hell and despair on the Last Day. Their intercession myth will never avail them. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "Until, when We have opened before them a gate of intense torment, at once they will be enveloped in despair.'' (23:77); "As for the sinners, they will be in the torment of Hell forever. It will never be eased for them. They will be enveloped in it.'' (43:74-75). Before rain dropped, people were in despair: "Although they were before this - before it was sent down upon them - enveloped in despair.'' (30:449).

The Bride Is Not A Virgin!
Published in February 26, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … This occurred to a friend of mine; he asks for your fatwa: A year ago, he has signed a marriage contract and he left his legal wife (within unconsummated marriage, of course) and went to work in a Gulf monarchy to get the necessary money to purchase a house, pieces of furniture, etc. On his return home, and within the bridal night after the wedding party, he consummated the marriage and discovered that his wife is not a virgin; he suspects she might have cheated on him during his absence. What's to be done in that case? … Thank you …
Answer:
Some women have no hymen or their hymen is very elastic and does not produce blood. She may be innocent; she may have not cheated on him. If otherwise (i.e., he confronted her and she confessed her infidelity), your friend should have divorced her on the same night and thus he would prove her being a non-virgin and that he was deceived/cuckolded, and she should leave his house at once and never to demand any financial rights of divorced women. If it is too late; i.e., many days have passed and he made no reaction and took no action, he can divorce her but he must give her all her due rights. Of course, the other option before him is to realize that she has repented and feel sincere remorse over her guilt/sin; he can forgive and forget and he should not expose/scandalize her, if she will solemnly promise to make him a proper, good, faithful wife.

Visiting Sorcerers!
Published in February 26, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it OK in Islam to visit (as customers) sorcerers, witches, charlatans, etc.?… Thank you …
Answer:
This is prohibited in Islam, as you will hear from him/her blasphemies and words of disbelief/polytheism while they claim to control jinn and make jinn at their service. Believers are responsible for what they see and hear; the Lord God commands us in the Quran to avoid locations/gatherings of people who undermine, cast doubt, and/or strive against the Quranic verses.

About the Quranic Verse 27:66
Published in February 26, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Would you explain this verse to me: "In fact, their knowledge of the Hereafter is confused. In fact, they are in doubt about it. In fact, they are blind to it." (27:66)? … Thank you …
Answer:
It is a Quranic fact that polytheists, in all eras till the end of days, fabricate and believe in myths concerning the Hereafter and the Last Day; their major myths include confused, contradictory ideas about intercession and sinners being 'delivered' by getting out of Hell or not to enter into it in the first place by words of the o-called mediators or intercessors; i.e., 'saints' or messengers/prophets. This means that those who fabricate and believe in these blasphemous myths are blind in a metaphorical/figurative sense; they ascribe lies to the Lord God and to His Religion. This applies to the Muhammadans who believe in hadiths, especially hadiths about the so-called intercession. Washing Corpses of the Dead
Published in February 27, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it OK that a Muslim man would wash the (naked) bodies of his dead mother, sister, or daughter before the burial? What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
There is nothing in Islam called burial rituals; there is no need to wash the dead bodies at all; would you wash them to serve to the worms a good meal?! Such practices/rituals are of pagan origin. It is prohibited for a man/woman to see the naked dead body of a man/woman; we are to preserve the dignity of the person whose soul left the body for good and returned to Barsakh by burying the dead body at once so that it will decompose without hurting the eyes and noses of living people.

Engaging in Trade with Israelis
Published in February 27, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it OK for Muslim tradesmen/merchants to engage in trade with (Jewish) Israelis? What is your own view of this? … Thank you …
Answer:
It is OK and never prohibited or forbidden. All types of trade (within mutual consent of all parties involved) are allowed/permissible within Islam for all people (Muslims and non-Muslims alike).

Awra of Women, Again!
Published in February 27, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it OK if a man sees the (semi)nudity of his mother/sister? What about husbands seeing their wives stark naked and vice-versa? What about male doctors who examine women's anuses or vaginas?! What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
A husband and a wife can see the full nudity of each other as we infer from this verse: "Permitted for you is intercourse with your wives on the night of the fast. They are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them..." (2:187). Awra in general is body parts concealed by clothes and one (a man or a woman) would feel ashamed if someone else saw such body parts. Women do NOT have to cover their faces, hair, necks, feet, and hands (i.e., body parts washed within ablution before prayers) indoors or outdoors. People must seek to obtain permission before entering into houses to avoid inadvertent seeing of (semi)naked people; see 24:31 and 24:58-59. It is permissible that a male doctor would examine any of the body-parts of women and men who seek to be healed. It is prohibited that a man would see the partial or whole nakedness of his mother and sister.

Adhering to Stipulated Conditions
Published in February 28, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … I've bought recently some useful lectures in return for US$ 300. My brothers seem to need these lectures now, but they do not afford buying their own copies; before I bought mine, I promised the author of these lectures most faithfully to never share them with anyone, as circulating them will be violating his copyright; I signed to this stipulated condition, among others, in the purchase contract. Am I allowed then to give these lectures to my brothers or not; no one will know or get hurt, I think. The author will not sue me, I suppose. Yet, I fear having pricks of conscience if I give my brothers copies of these lectures! What is your own opinion? What shall I do? Any advice? … Thank you …
Answer:
Good Muslims adhere to stipulated conditions to which they have agreed and signed, and they keep their promises no matter what; the author does not see you, but the Omniscient Lord God sees you and will judge you.

The Nosy, Talkative Female Friend of my Wife!
Published in February 28, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Once my daughters left Egypt with their husbands to settle in a Gulf monarchy where their husbands work, my wife and I lived in peace for a short while; my torment began when a nosy, talkative female friend of my wife appeared suddenly in our lives! This friend is a good-natured, kind, and generous woman; she lives near our house, yet, she does talk a great deal, for hours on end, as she visits us on a daily basis now! Her very loud voice would shatter glass! I hate her voice which pierces my poor ears! My wife made her acquaintance once our daughters left Egypt. This female friend of hers talk too much about her ancestors, her literary talents (she poses as a poetess and a writer of novels!), as well as all topics imaginable: religion, politics, arts, literature, cooking, economy, science, etc. She talks a great deal and never requires a response; she would not allow anyone to interrupt her! She is, in fact, an uneducated, uncouth ignoramus with inferiority complex! She demands that my wife and myself listen to her attentively every single day! She comes along with her poor husband who rarely opens his mouth! This husband of hers would only utter few words with me at first, and then, he'd listen attentively to the endless chatter of his wife! His rude wife would demand my presence from my wife if I would excuse myself (to settle in my bedroom) or would never show up to receive her! She assumes that I must sit with her almost mute husband! In fact, she desires that I listen to her by force! I love mostly to sit on my own within my bedroom, watching movies and football matches. My wife loves to cook, and this is her only hobby, I think. My wife has free time and she listens to her talkative friend without getting tired! Unfortunately, she is fascinated and amused by her new friend! My wife is quarreling with me nowadays for never showing due respect to her new friend! I told her that her friend is an ignorant, backward, rude woman who assumes herself to be Mrs. know-all! My wife is very angry with me now! She neglects me now more often than not! Thus, my life has become a veritable hell! Sometimes, I pretended to be engaged in prolonged prayers to avoid meeting her cursed friend! This excuse did not work! I even cannot talk with the cursed woman's husband in private; there are no common interests between me and him at all; besides, his cursed wife would never leave us talk in private at all as we must listen to her! Do you have any suggestions to solve my problem?! Would I leave the country like my daughters?! Please help me with your pieces of advice! … Thank you …
Answer:
We think that your wife is punishing you for neglecting her; you leave her feeling lonely while you keep busy watching movies and football matches. You are to specify more time to your wife; she needs your tender, loving care, especially after your daughters have left Egypt with their husbands. You should visit your family members (and hers) and all your friends, accompanied by your wife. You should share your hobbies with your wife and she should share hers with you: watch movies and football matches together; you should help her in the kitchen since she loves to cook. Spend more good times together as a couple. This way, you will get liberated from this nosy, garrulous woman and her husband who trespass on your privacy, get on your nerves, and waste your time; indeed, we have to say here that we pity very much this talkative woman's husband.

Friday Sermons in Arabic?
Published in March 1, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it obligatory in Islam that Friday sermons are delivered in Arabic? What about the non-Arab audiences? Some imams of Sunnite doctrines assume that using the Arabic tongue in that case is a must? Is that true? … Thank you …
Answer:
This is not true; Friday sermons can be delivered in any tongues/languages. It is obligatory in Islamic sermons to make them confined to mentioning and pondering Quranic verses; it is prohibited to quote devilish hadiths/lies/myths as they undermine and cast doubt on the Quran and encourage polytheism and/or disbelief (it is absolutely prohibited to listen to such nonsense, of course); in addition, it is prohibited to deify/glorify mortals in any sermons, which are to contain only the glorification of the Lord God.

Silly Balderdash of Cursed Narrators
Published in March 1, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … Within several books of Sunnite authors, I've read several hadiths by several men, within trusted series of narrators, that the Sunna ascribed to Prophet Muhammad is part of the revelation given to him by the Lord God (via the archangel Gabriel) alongside with the Quran; does this mean that (some) hadiths are part of God's Word?! What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
This is silly balderdash of cursed narrators who were born decades after Muhammad's death; they were never his contemporaries; they never saw Muhammad or Gabriel. Please do not read/trust such lies/hadiths and the inveterate liars who fabricate such myths embraced by the polytheistic Muhammadans. The Lord God gave Muhammad no Scripture(s) whatsoever except the Quranic text itself: Islam contains nothing but One Celestial Book. Even when there were two prophets/messengers at the same era; e.g., Moses and Aaron, the Lord God gave them One Divine Book. By the way, prophets/messengers from Noah to Jesus had no hadiths/Sunna at all; Muhammad was no exception to this rule.

Defining Who Quranists Are
Published in March 1, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … I think that it is racist of you to mention that the Egyptian thinker and author (and former head of Al-Azhar) Mohamed Abdou (who died in 1905 A.D.) is the pioneer of the Quranist trend and the one who established its roots as he rejected hadiths, Sufism, intercession, etc.; you forget to mention that there are many Indian thinkers before him who rejected hadiths. Why are you denying/ignoring their steps and contributions?! … Thank you …
Answer:
You are under some misconception; the roots of Quranism harken back to the first century A.H.; Prophet Muhammad is the first monotheist who believed only in the Quran; the scholar Abou Hanifa declared his rejection of, and disbelief in, all hadiths. This means that in every era, there was a minority of Quranists; i.e., without their using the terms ''Quranists'' and ''Quranism'', they rejected all hadiths and fiqh. This has been explained in our previous articles and fatwas. The pioneer in the modern era is the imam M. Abdou; his school of Quranism is evident in his writings, especially his ponderings on the Quran; his treacherous Levantine disciple, the Salafist sheikh Rasheed Reda who settled in Egypt, betrayed the school of thought of M. Abdou as we have explained before in our book, in English, titled "The Emergence of Wahabism in Najd and Its Spread in Egypt" (http://www.ahl-alquran.com/arabic/book_main.php?main_id=140). Most of those imams of India did not deny/reject all hadiths; they retained some hadiths in their lines of thought; in their books, those ignoramuses have concocted their own ideas which contradict many Quranic verses as they followed their whims and desires; therefore, as far as we know, they are not Quranists at all.

Without Following Whims and Desires
Published in March 3, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … I admire your Quranist ideas very much; yet, I beg you to re-consider your view/fatwa about allowing temporary marriages (which aim only at sexual gratification) as permissible in Islam. Such marriages cause lots of damage and trouble, I think; marriage should be stable and long-lasting, as holy matrimony, with the aim of the procreation of children; divorces are OK if the couple are not satisfied/happy within their conjugal life; I do believe that it's against ethics and morals to engage into a temporary marriage whose date of ending it is fixed beforehand! … Thank you …
Answer:
We issue our fatwas without following any whims and desires; we consult the Quran only in all cases. This view of ours will not be changed; it is based on our own understanding and ponderings of the Quran; all types of marriage (i.e., between a man and a woman) are legal as long as mutual consent is obtained, dowry is paid, contracts are drawn, and witnesses (at least two adults) sign the contracts. It is not sinful if the couple decide beforehand that their marriage is temporary and will last for a certain duration, as long as mutual consent of the man and the woman is obtained. It is sinful to deem what is legal/allowed in Islam as prohibited; we will never commit this sin of prohibiting the permissible items just to please you! We bear full responsibility for our Quran-based views/fatwas before the Lord God on the Last Day. Temporary marriage is permissible and legal in Islam even if you dislike it.

The Quranic Term (Darq)
Published in March 3, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is the meaning of the Quranic term (Darq) and its derivations? … Thank you …
Answer:
The words derived from the Quranic/Arabic root D/R/Q has these meanings. (A) to reach, attain, overtake, and grasp: "No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision..." (6:103); "And We inspired Moses: "Travel by night with My servants, and strike for them a dry path across the sea, not fearing being overtaken, nor worrying."" (20:77); "Wherever you may be, death will reach you, even if you were in fortified towers..." (4:78); "...and then is overtaken by death, his compensation falls on God. God is Forgiver, Most Merciful." (4:100). (B) The lowest level in Hell: "The hypocrites will be in the lowest level of the Fire, and you will find no helper for them. Except those who repent, and reform..." (4:145-146).

Jesus as God's Word
Published in March 3, 2019
Question: … Dear Sir, … We read in the Quranic text that Jesus is described as God's Word and that he has no biological father; does this hint to the 'divine' nature of Jesus?! Is he a part of God as claimed by Christian doctrines?! … I'm confused; any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
The fact that the Quran describes Jesus as God's Word does NOT mean deifying Jesus. This Quranic appellation of Jesus simply refers to the fact that the Holy Spirit of the Lord God; i.e., the archangel Gabriel, carried the Divine Command or Word (Be!) to Mary and she conceived and delivered her son Jesus at once (i.e., without the usual 9-month pregnancy duration). The Lord God is the Omnipotent Creator of all creatures in the universe as per His Divine Will. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say about God except the truth. The messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, is the messenger of God, and His Word that He conveyed to Mary, by the Spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say, "Three." Refrain - it is better for you. God is only one God. Glory be to Him - that He should have a son. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and the earth, and God is a sufficient Protector. The messiah does not disdain to be a servant of God, nor do the favored angels. Whoever disdains His worship, and is too arrogant - He will round them up to Himself altogether." (4:171-172).

A Sound Heart
Published in August 20, 2012
Question: … Dear Sir, … The Quranic expression (a sound heart) is mentioned two times only within two contexts about Abraham: "And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected. The Day when neither wealth nor children will help. Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart."" (26:87-89); "When he came to his Lord with a sound heart. He said to his father and his people, "What are you worshiping? Is it false gods, instead of Allah, that you want?" (37:84-85). What is meant exactly by this Quranic expression? By the way, I have a Christian French friend who is a very peaceful, gentle and helpful man; does he not have a sound heart that would be enough to enter into Paradise in the Hereafter? What is your own view of this? … Thank you …
Answer:
A sound heart/soul is the one which contains pure monotheism; it has no room for polytheism; i.e., worshiping, sanctifying, and deifying mortals and things. A sound heart means to devote one's belief, religion, and acts of worship only to Allah. This sound heart utters faithfully the testimony of monotheism: (There is no God but Allah). In contrast, the Sunnite Muhammadans deify Muhammad and place his name besides Allah in this testimony by making it a dual testimony; the Shiite Muhammadans add the names of Ali and Muhammad deified by them, and theirs is a triple testimony. The names of Muhammad and Ali must never be mentioned in this testimony or in the Azan (call to prayers inside mosques). The phrase (Allah is the Greatest!) means that He is exalted above all His human and non-human creatures. This means that real monotheists devote and dedicate their prayers only to their Lord God; they utter the verse 3:18 as their testimony during prayers; they never praise/glorify Muhammad's (and Ali's) name in their prayers. Only those who have this sound heart will enter into Paradise in the Hereafter. As per the Quran, Abraham was a monotheist who never worshiped pagan idols; he died as a monotheist with a sound heart; even during his adolescence, he smashed the pagan idols of his people to defy and challenge them. Of course your French peaceful friend deserves our respect; yet, a high moral attitude is not enough to have a sound heart; Christians (like the Muhammadans) are polytheists who worship and deify mortals. A sound heart is filled with monotheism, and monotheists never deify, worship, or sanctify anything/anyone besides their Lord God.

About Naskh
Published in April 17, 2012
Question: … Dear Sir, … Let me first congratulate you on creating a Facebook account for your great Quranism website (https://www.facebook.com/Ahl.Alquran.IQC?) ........ I'd like to ask you about Naskh; some Arabs thinkers (or rather YouTubers) assume that there are no Quranic verses which replace/annul other verses; they assume that Naskh means that the Quran replaces the previous Celestial Scriptures only. What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
The right beginnings lead to the right conclusions; wretched, erroneous beginnings lead inevitably to the wrong conclusions. Naskh does not mean to replace or annul; we have proved in our previous writings that it means to assert, to emphasize, and to write. When we rightly define Quranic terminology, the results of the Quranist research will be correct; thus, the Quran asserts and endorses the previous Celestial Scriptures and does not remove/nullify them. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "And believe in what I revealed, confirming what is with you; and do not be the first to deny it..." (2:41); "And when a Book came to them from God, confirming what they have..." (2:89); "And when it is said to them, "Believe in what God has revealed," they say, "We believe in what was revealed to us," and they reject anything beyond that, although it is the truth which confirms what they have..." (2:91); "Say, "Whoever is hostile to Gabriel-it is he who revealed it to your heart by God's leave, confirming what preceded it, and guidance and good news for the believers."" (2:97); "And when there came to them a messenger from God, confirming what they had, a faction of those who were given the Book threw the Book of God behind their backs, as if they do not know." (2:101); "And We revealed to you the Book, with truth, confirming the Scripture that preceded it, and confirming it..." (5:48); "This Quran relates to the Israelites most of what they differ about" (27:76).
