Egyptians and people of conscience worldwide will stand in solidarity by dressing in black on Friday and posting their pictures to the facebook group.
The article below, in Arabic, details the torture and beating to death of Khalid Saeed by Egyptian Police. On June 8, 2010, Khalid Saeed was brutally murdered in retaliation for exposing police corruption by posting a video showing police officers dividing confiscated drugs among themselves.
Under Egyptian martial law, recently renewed by dictator Hosni Mubarek, Egyptian police terrorize the citizenry with impunity. Beatings, torture, disappearances and killings are all too commonplace.
The Coalition of Egyptian Organizations in North America, a group dedicated to bringing real democracy to Egypt, will be protesting this latest flagrant act of violence, the murder of Khalid Saeed. We will protest this Friday, June 18, 2010, beginning at 6 pm, at the Embassy of Egypt, 3521 International Ct. NW, Washington, DC 2008.
Your support is most welcome,
