A Former Secretariat of the Dissident Ayman Nour Commits Suicide in His Cell.

Cairo: Egyptian security sources states that the former secretariat of the Egyptian dissident -Aymen Nour- was found last Thursday in his cell after committing suicide. A Security official, who preferred to keep his identity secret, told Elaph that Ayman Ismail hang himself in one of Cairo prisons, where he on December 2005 was sentenced for five years bases on fraud charges, just like Ayman Nour.

During the trial, Ismail turned against Ayman Nour trying to make him responsible of all charges, but Ismail later changed his position claiming that such confessions were forced out of him by police officers who threatened to abuse members of his family. Gamila Ismail, Ayman Nour’s wife, who is not a relative of the victim, stated that the inhumane treatment that Ismail faced in prison is made him commit suicide.
