Dear Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour. I hope you can help me with a small matter. I am a former christian who believes in One God and i live in the UK. I've recently read the holy qur'an and feel that this is the correct path for me to follow. I have begun by praying in the morning and at night. I only have interest in a 'quranic only islam' and would like to commit by converting. My question is : How do I go about doing this ? Do i need to recite some words in arabic in front of a witness or at a mosque ? Or do i just need to be sincere in heart and mind ? Your help in this matter is very much appreciated. Thank you

Dear sir

Peace be upon you. ( Al Salam Alykom )

You do not need to declare your Islam before any one. This is a private relationship between you and your Lord, Allah. Islam in dealing with Allah, The Creator is to believe in him alone and to worship Him alone and to uphold the Holy Quran alone. No one has the right to interfere in this relationship between you and Him.

Islam in dealing with people is to be peaceful one, regardless of your religion, sect and/or cult. Every peaceful human is a Muslim , and any one who kills people in the name of Allah is ( Kafer/Moshrik ) , or disbeliever according to his behavior.
